The Thumbelina earring is inspired by the eponymous tale about a thumb-sized girl called Tiny who falls in love with a fairy prince. In the story, Thumbelina is floating on a lily pad down a brook when she is greeted by a curious butterfly. The curious butterfly helps Thumbelina and lets her fly away with them.
